Emily and Rachel are sisters who graduated high school a year apart.
Each girl wanted to use downtown Raleigh as the location for her session. Although we’d be using the same location, I wanted to ensure that I found different types of backgrounds, specific to what each girl wanted.
Before each senior session, I have the senior fill out a questionnaire to determine what they are really hoping to see in their photographs. Even though they both chose the same location, these sisters have very different styles. I loved the challenge of making sure that these 2 sisters, similar but different, each got the unique session they wanted based on their distinct tastes.
Emily liked the more classic look of downtown Raleigh. She described her style as being classic and neutral. Her friends would describe her as sweet, loyal and happy. When I asked her 3 words to describe her dream session she said private, natural and simple.
Rachel wanted a more artistic downtown vibe. She described her style as being hippie and edgy. Her friends would describe her as fun, adventurous, and interesting. When I asked her 3 words to describe her dream session she said trippy, fairytale and artsy.
Location scouting is one of my favorite parts of my job. If used strategically, your location can help tell a story of who you are, what you like, where you live and how you like to live.
