Planning your Outfits (and Location Pairing) for Your Senior Session

March 1, 2020

Sydney aspires to be an event planner, and is a planner by nature, so you can be sure she came into her senior portrait session consultation with a solid plan in mind.  She knew that she wanted her session to take place in downtown Raleigh and had a few places in mind.  In her questionnaire, she told me that she wanted her session to be fun + colorful, outdoors and with lots of beautiful natural light. With photos of her outfits, we were able to pair them up with the perfect locations!

Sydney is on the Senior Model Team ’20 so she had the opportunity to take part in several group shoots before her senior portrait session came around.  This is always so helpful for both of us because we are already comfortable with each other and she knows how I work, and I know how she is front of the camera (a natural!)

She began her session with hair and makeup (by Karen Michelle Clark) and then we met at the Raleigh Union Station for her first look.  In case you are wondering, I bring a pop up changing tent to each session so we will always have a place to change your outfit without having to do it in the car or run around looking for a bathroom!

So, let’s take a look at the outfit/location pairings we came up with!

For her last outfit and location (the Boylan Bridge at sunset), Sydney wore this casual and cute jeans and cheetah combo! senior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridgesenior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridgesenior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridgesenior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridgesenior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridgesenior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridgesenior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridgesenior girl downtown raleigh boylan bridge

For outfit planning, I usually recommend something dressy, something casual and then a wildcard (can be sporty, bold, fun, formal- whatever fits your personality!)  I love helping you plan your outfits- whether it be during our consultation or via text! I also bring my traveling accessory box which has earrings, necklaces, bracelets, even a few hats, for you to wear if you forget your own or just want to try something different.
