Ever wonder how the model team shoots work? Well here is a peek at how the shoots get planned!
Our first shoot for the ’23 Senior Model Team was a fun and hot, tropical themed event in July! I rented a gorgeous location for us to use as a fun back drop for our session. We used Tulum, Mexico as our inspiration and the girls dressed in the best colors of summer! It was a great opportunity for the girls to come together, get to know each other and be in front of my camera for the very first time. You can see we had the best time!!
For each group shoot, a theme is chosen, a Pinterest board is made and shared with everyone on the team and a basic color palette is talked about for outfits. I find a location, choose the time of day where we will have the best light at our location, and get any fun props we may want to use!
I ask each girl to post her outfit to the group chat so that we can make sure everyone’s outfit will work together- the colors and the styles. For this shoot, I wanted maximum outfit variety, so rather than everyone wearing a mini dress, we had some pants and dresses of all lengths.
We always do a few group shots, individual images of each person, and as many smaller groupings as I can get! I really love when I get images of them just having fun together!
Before the shoot, I make a shot list so I can work fast and be sure to get everything I want. It never fails though, even with all of the planning I do, I still come home wishing I had done something that I overlooked while shooting. Oh well, there’s always next shoot! 🙂 Luckily, as a team we have several group shoots planned throughout their senior year, so we have plenty of chances to try fun things!
