Fabiana and I met in downtown Durham for her senior session. Throughout our planning process, we had discussed what (and who!) she might bring to make her pictures feel unique and tell her whole story and have a smooth session. Her mom had also been crucial in planning the perfect session for Fabiana and knew all of the good spots in downtown Durham! She also took all of our behind the scenes photos and videos for the day:) Fabiana’s brother brought her sweet pup, who would be included in some of the pictures and he also was the best at getting an authentic laugh out of Fabiana!
Tell me YOUR STORY. How can I help you represent it in your senior pictures?
I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and I lived in Puerto Rico until I moved to Florida when I was seven. I learned English throughout the course of my elementary school years. We moved around until we settled in North Carolina in 2015. I then started middle school band where I played clarinet and I switched to playing bass clarinet in high school and in the marching band. I have made it into some ensembles on bass clarinet such as the North Carolina All-State Band and the U.S. All National Concert Band. My favorite senior memory was the senior dinner that was held by our schools marching band at the end of the season since the seniors were able to reflect on their years of high school and have a sort of sentimental goodbye to the marching band season.
What did you envision for your senior session?
I wanted a relaxed session where I can just have fun while taking pictures and just one that does not cause me much stress. I wanted my senior session to include photos that show who I am as well as portray the personality I had while I was a senior in high school.
Why did you choose ME for your senior portrait photographer?
I chose you to be my senior portrait photographer because I have seen the way that you can make beautiful pictures for people and you can show them truly smiling.
What do you like about the pictures you have seen from your friends who have hired me for their senior portraits?
I like that you take a variety of pictures with different poses and that you have been able to capture different sides depending on the outfit the person was wearing in the picture.
What are you MOST excited about for life AFTER high school?
I am most excited to go to college to further my education and meet new people!
Fabiana graduated from Green Level High School this past spring and is headed to UNC this fall. Best of luck, Fabiana!!
