Meet Christa! Christa is on the Class of 2021 Senior Model Team. When it was time to plan her senior portrait session, she knew she wanted to shoot in downtown Raleigh and get a few shots with the skyline. To our surprise, the spot we picked to get a good view of the city was closed when we got there! With a little explaining of the situation to a very nice and understanding security guard, we were allowed access to get our pictures! Moral of the story – if you don’t ask, the answer is always no!

Is there a quote that inspires you?
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that”-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Person you’d most want to meet. Why?
I’d most want to meet with First Lady Michelle Obama because she’s very inspirational, not only to women of color but communities of color as well as women and really the entire community. Notice above that I don’t want to just meet her, but actually meet with her. She has been presented with awards and recognition by her very presence in the White House and the impact of her innovative ideas and initiatives. She tries to reach younger audiences through traditional to non-traditional ways of communication. Michelle Obama, a lawyer, continues to do work that uplifts people which is incredibly inspiring to me.
Christa will graduate from Apex Friendship high school this June. Good luck, Christa!
