This family is awesome. Rocco is one cool kid, and always has a smile. Simone makes you work for her smile, but it’s worth it and very gratifying once you get it!
I love photographing families for many reasons, but one is that I love looking into someone else’s life for a few minutes. I love that when Rocco and Simone were in front of the camera, Aninda and Dino sang their favorite songs (not what I expected; a 70’s motown classic instead of a Frozen song) behind me to keep their attention. I love that when Simone dropped her baby, she picked it up and asked if she was okay (Aninda said this was the first time she’d ever heard her put those words together!) I love that Rocco snuck on his Beatles tshirt under his sweater and waited patiently for a few pictures in just the tshirt (he was so patient, we must have made him put his sweater back on 3 times!)
