I loved this session. When Rachel and I planned their family portraits, she told me that she wanted a rustic feel. Historic Oak View Park had everything she wanted and more. Big, beautiful barn- check, cotton field- check, beautiful fall leaves-check!
This day at Oak View was particularly busy, and I waited by the visitor center to meet my clients. Each group or family that walked by, I wondered if that was who I was here to meet (felt like a blind date of sorts.) When they walked up, I knew it was the family I was waiting for- they were adorable!
A larger family with younger kids can be a little overwhelming to photograph, but that was not the case with these sweet kids! They were good listeners (for the “everybody look at me and smile” shots), and happy to play and explore (for the “this is what our family is really like” shots). A handful of leaves was all they needed for a good time. And just being together was enough.
After our session, Rachel emailed a photo of how she’d like to hang her prints in her dining room, and we worked together to figure out the best photos, sizes and ways to bring her vision to life. The first part of my job is making beautiful photographs of your family. The second part is helping you figure out the best way to use and display them in your home. Seeing these photographs in your home daily is the best way to get the maximum amount of enjoyment from your session. 🙂
