The day of our shoot was gray and cloudy. Olivia and her mom texted me on their way that it was starting to drizzle, and would we still shoot. It only rained for a few minutes, but I could tell that her spirits were a little down.
The experience of the day is what she’ll remember. I didn’t want her to leave our session feeling down because of a cloudy day. We talked while we walked, and enjoyed the park. Changing outfits, trying different poses and finding cool places to shoot made our session fun. We collaborated on accessories and ideas and they trusted me about finding good light and poses. A natural smile and a spark in the eyes always makes for the most beautiful portraits.
At their viewing + ordering session, she commented that it didn’t even look as overcast as she remembered. Olivia and her mom looked thru each photo, starring their favorites as they went along. This helps us choose which photographs or products will fit their needs the best. When I got the iPad back from them and sorted out the starred images, they had starred 57 out of 60 images! Not so bad for a gray day! Olivia didn’t let the weather get her down, and she enjoyed herself and I think it shows. 🙂
