“I think senior pictures are very important. They are a way to express yourself and show a different side of you. They are also a great way to look back at your senior year in the future.”
Samantha is on the Class of 2023 Senior Model Team so we had already had a few shoots together by the time she had her senior portrait session. Being on the team allows us a chance to get to know each other and break the ice so that we are much more comfortable with each other and I can get the most authentic expressions.
The day of her session, rain was in the forecast, but we got lucky with a sunny start! Right as we were leaving the first location, the skies opened up and rain poured as we drove to the next location. We were driving away from the rain, because as we arrived at Lake Crabtree we found sunny skies and dry grounds- it hadn’t rained there at all!

Something I Wish I Were Better At:
Surfing! I love the beach and I tried surfing a couple times. I was okay at it, but I wish I was better at it because it is so fun.
What is the biggest obstacle you faced in high school? How did you overcome it?
Last year, I got a concussion from cheerleading. We were doing a stunt during a game. It was difficult because I could not use computers in school and that is a majority of what we use. I could not be on my phone hardly at all which was very hard for me. I was out of cheer for almost a month. When I returned it was very difficult for me to do my tumbling skills and other things. I eventually adjusted to cheer and everything returned to normal, but it took a while.
