5 Tips for Hiring the Right Wedding Photographer

1. Meet them in person. Your wedding photographer with be with you almost every second of your wedding day, so make sure that you like them. They will be getting a tissue for you if you need one, looking for your cousin Bob to complete the family pictures, and capturing every glorious dance move on the dance floor!
2. Make sure you like their photography style. If you are having a traditional wedding, get someone who knows how to shoot in a church and will get plenty of formal portraits. Having a DIY backyard wedding? Find a photog who will capture all of the details in your hard work, and tell the story of your day. Just like with your mate- there is someone for everyone.
3. Decide what you want to come away with after the wedding. Do you want the digital negatives, prints to frame, or a custom fine art album? See what products are offered and what is included in the packages to find the right fit.
4. Create a wedding day timeline. This can help keep everyone on track, ensure there is enough time for all of the portraits, and plenty of time for catching all of the candid moments. Your wedding photographer can help you build the timeline for your day.
5. Get an engagement session! This is a fun way for you to get comfortable in front of the camera, and to see how everyone works together. It also helps the photographer see what poses and angles look better for you individually and as a couple.

Still feeling a little overwhelmed by all choices? Email me with questions or set up a time to meet in person to go over all of the details over coffee!  Happy Planning!
