Planning is the key to a smooth and successful session! These 3 tips will get you thinking about what you truly want and how to have your own dream session!
- Pinterest is your friend! Create a board of cap and gown photos that you like. This will help us plan- to see what patterns emerge and what you are drawn to! If you pin 15 images of confetti- we are definitely doing a conetti shot! And just as important as what you like, take note of what you dislike- we will be sure to steer clear of those types of images.
- Plan out your outfits. Of course, you want pictures of you wearing your cap and gown but we will see what you are wearing underneath it. We will shoot with the gown open as well as zipped up, we will throw it over your shoulder and we will defitely get some without the gown. So make sure the dress underneath is cute. And especially your shoes. They will be the only bit of personal style we may see in the traditional cap and gown shots, so make them cute!
- Think about props- do you want them? The cap, the gown, the sashes and stoles can all be used as props. Do you want to decorate your cap, like Caroline did? Do you want to show how ectsatic you are and all of your hardwork like tossing pages in the air? Can we celebrate with some glitter or champagne popping??
Caroline was so thoughtful and knew exactly what she wanted for her college grad session from NC State. This time she was graduating with her Master’s Degree so she knew she wanted to have fun with these photos (she said she did more traditional photos with her undergrad session). Through our planning, we went over outfits, locations and props and came up with just the right session for Caroline!!
