August 26, 2022

< back to blog home

The visual representation of your brand is so important to your business. If you’re wondering if you should update your brand’s photos, you can read a bit more about that here. Maybe you’re ready to update your brand imagery, but you’re wondering what the process looks like. Today, I’m taking you through the timeline that begins the moment you book your branding session! Let’s dig in!

Discovery Call

First, we’ll schedule the discovery call. During this initial call, we’ll go over all the aspects that make your brand unique. We’ll talk through the customers you serve, the products and/or services you sell, and the vision you have for your images. I want to get to know your business so that I can best represent it in your final gallery. This is the time we’ll begin a rough draft of “the shot list,” which is a list of our ideal shots that will come in handy on the day of the session!

Pre-Session Questionnaire

Next, I will send over the Pre-Session Questionnaire. This form allows me to pick your brain about various aspects of your business. It also gets your wheels turning on what you would like to get out of our time together. You’ll begin thinking through what types of images you need and how you plan to use them post-shoot. I’ll update the shot list accordingly once you’ve had time to think through and answer these questions.

Creating The Plan

After I receive the questionnaire back from you, we’ll begin talking about logistics! Together, we’ll put together a plan to bring your vision to life. This is the time to finalize decisions on location, time of day, outfits and props to prepare, as well as the finalized shot list. During this time, I can address any last minute questions you have to ensure everyone is ready for the day of the shoot.

Day Of The Shoot

Once the day of the shoot is here, you will be able to rest easy knowing that all the details are taken care of! This is the time to relax and enjoy the session, because branding shoots really are a lot of fun! We’ll work through the shot list together, using any props you’ve prepared and changing up the background for variety. I’ll capture images of you in action, creating your product or delivering your service, as well as more posed shots of you sitting or standing in your place of business. I’ll make sure we capture everything needed to create a final gallery that will serve your business content needs really well!

Your New Brand Imagery

All the hard work of planning and preparing will eventually lead to the exciting email that your images are ready! You will be able to choose which images you’d like about 1-2 weeks after your shoot. Once you select your images, I will give each of them a final retouch to make sure that they are polished and ready to share! You’ll immediately be able to implement this beautiful new representation of your brand on platforms like social media or your website and in any printed marketing items your business may need! Also, if you ever get stuck on how to use a certain image or which image to select, I will continue to provide support and am just an email away!
