Wow. A mom said this at her daughter’s senior session recently. Graduating from high school is an important milestone in your daughter’s life. She is about to go away to college, leave your home and create her own life. She is on the on the cusp of a bright future ahead, and this chapter of her life is closing.
This type of senior portrait session is a celebration of who she is right now, at this stage in her life. And it’s different from the yearbook photo – it is customized exactly for her. Portraits that are as special as she is. This is an experience. It’s about the location, the clothes, the hair and makeup and creating a one of a kind experience just for her.
And let’s be honest, don’t you kind of wish you had portraits like this of yourself from this age??
Often, it’s a great experience for both of you. The planning, shopping for outfits, discussing ideas for makeup- consider it quality time. You end up with timeless, priceless, gorgeous photos of her to look at while she’s away at college, and she gets beautiful new images to share on her social media. Win win!
So if this last year of high school feels like it’s flying past- take a moment. You’ve all worked hard to get here. Savor it.
Payton’s senior session began at the Arboretum. Her cute Free People skirt and crop top was the perfect outfit for her carefree and barefoot in the garden vibe! Next, we moved on to downtown Raleigh to get more of a fun, city vibe in two different outfits and a few locations. She is most happy when in her Apex Friendship cheer uniform so we made sure to get some photos in that too!
