Kelly and I have been friends since we were in photography school together over 10 years ago! She called me with only a few days to spare to get some family portraits taken before her husband was to be deployed for Afghanistan for a full year. We shot their sweet family portrait session on this bright, sunny, and chilly New Year’s Eve day. People don’t usually think of the winter months as a prime time to schedule a family portrait session, but I think these photos prove that you can make beautiful family pictures any time of the year!
