6 Reasons to Book A Mini Session

September 19, 2017

< back to blog home

Many people ask what the difference is between a mini session and a full session.  A mini session is a shorter session (usually 15-20 minutes) on a pre-determined date and at a predetermined location.  I hold mini sessions typically once or twice a year, but always in the fall so my clients can get their holiday cards + prints for gifts in time for the holidays.  It is a quick and easy way to update portraits without investing a lot of time and gives you a great bang for your buck.

Need a reason to book a mini this fall?  I’ve got 6 reasons for you.

  1. You can do just the kids.

A mini session is a great way to get some current photos of your kids to send out to grandma.  And shows a little more personality than the school photos.

2. You can do a seasonal senior session

Can’t decide between scarves + boots or shorts + crop tops?  A mini session allows you to have both for your senior portraits – schedule your full session in the spring, and your mini in the fall. Win win.

3. Great for kids of all ages

Seniors and teens have busy schedules with sports, jobs and hobbies so this 20 minute session is easy to fit into everyone’s schedule.  Worried about your little kids not being able to hang in there for a full hour?  Schedule a mini!

4. Use your images for your holiday cards and gifts

Looking sharp and brightening up everyone’s mailbox at holiday time!

5. It’s fast and easy

We will spend 20 short but sweet minutes together capturing the important things first (everybody smile and look this way!) and then all of the fun things (the moments in between that usually show the best smiles!)

6. It’s a great deal!

Although I believe in the investment of photography and portraits of the people we love, who doesn’t love a good deal?  For under 200 bucks you’ll get some fresh, new family portraits to sum up all the goodness of 2017!
